As a somatic psychotherapist, I have been working with the relationship between mind and body both professionally and personally in the somatic psychotherapy field for more than 50 years. With that background some years ago, when I started to have age-related joint issues, I went looking for someone to help me who also recognized the importance of treating more than the joints themselves. In that pursuit I tried out numerous practitioners with a variety of specialties. Most were competent to a degree, but none a good fit for my own mix of mind, body, emotions, and spirit. I nearly gave up trying, believing I’d have to settle for less than I knew would be optimal. Then a friend suggested Dr. Vuong.
To be honest, after so many mixed experiences (a few truly awful) I was skeptical. I went to our first meeting with trepidation and even some defensiveness. But much to my pleasant surprise, Dr. Vuong met me with humility, an open heart, patience, and competence.
She has always been willing to follow my pace, respecting my likes and dislikes. Though I depend on her expertise, I am always in charge of all final decisions.
We began, and have continued with osteopathic manipulation, fascia work, acupuncture, and as needed added in Perineural Injection therapy (PIT) and Prolotherapy.
In addition, during treatments we often have valuable and relevant discussions of mindfulness and spirituality.
I have also attended the enlightening meditation groups conducted by Acuprolo’s Dr. Irawan Susanto. Those are a wonderful adjunct to my over-all emotional, physical, and spiritual self-care.
Bottom line: I recommend Acuprolo Institute highly and without hesitation.
